Acting as an end-point server, Proxy Server is a computer which provides assorted services in stead of the real one located on the internet. Proxy Server garners the data which users retrieve from the internet via web browser. When the next users search for the same data previously found, they can directly acquire such data from the Proxy Server network without searching in external end-point webs again.

Self Assessment Report : SAR

    Since 2001, Information Technology Center, formerly Information Technology Center (ITC), has begun to compile a self-assessment report (SAR) to serve the assessment and evaluation tasks of education quality evaluation. At the time, ITC conducted only missions on training and pedagogy at the post- baccalaureate certificate level. Later in 2003, ITC in collaboration with the Graduate School of Business Administration launched the joint program: "Master of Science in Information Technology (IT) Management." In 2004, NIDA reassigned all technological and audio-visual tasks of numerous work units including the Technology Center, the Academic Service Division, and the Information for Management Center to be under supervision of the Office. This attempt was mainly aimed at unifying the entire Institute's IT management, resulting in two consequences. First, the Office's mission focused more on technological services. Second, The joint program: "Master of Science in IT Management" came to a close in the second semester of the academic year 2006. Accordingly, the Office's self-assessment during the time after that encompassed only Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of the following four standards which are:  

  01  Standard of service quality.

  02  Standard of academic services offered to society.

  03  Standard of the Office and its personnel development.

  04  Standard of quality assurance.

     Later, on 1 September 2008, NIDA made an Announcement about “Work Unit Separation in the Presidential Office of NIDA,” whereby the Sound and Electronics Section as well as the Still Picture and Television Section were affiliated by the Audio-Visual Working Group in the Central Division of the Presidential Office since 1 December 2008. For that reason, the Office has adjusted its self-assessment to be focused on technological service provision in particular. The newly adopted criteria of self-assessment comprise 6 components as follows:
Component 1: Philosophy, commitment, objective, and action plans.
Component 2: Service quality.
Component 3: Academic services to the society.
Component 4: Contributions to arts and culture.
Component 5: Administration and management.
Component 6: Systems and mechanisms of quality assurance.
Unquestionably, self-assessment assists ITC to perceive weaknesses and strengths of its IT services, thereby providing invaluable information for the Office to improve and develop quality of all the workloads. Even more, this self-assessment will partly gear ITC to proudly become a qualified work unit of the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA).

The reports of Information Technology Center consist of:

e-Learning System

It is source for teaching and learning; which consists of teaching plans, learning materials, homework and subject tests. It will be a new communication channel between students and instructors that will support students to manage their learning outside classrooms in different ways according to their needs, without limitation on time and place.

Step to register in E-Learning system.

  01  Instructors should submit request form to open courses in E-Learning system to the system administrator, and also should inform below details.

    1.1 Indicate student rights; unrestricted access, or password requirement.

    1.2 Appointments for video recording in classrooms if required.

  02  The system administrator will set up the courses and student rights in the system.

  03  The system administrator will add student to the courses.

  04  The system administrator will inform user name and password to each student.

SSL VPN

SSL VPN is available for students and staff of the institution. For use as a medium of connection between users of Modem, ADSL, WiFi, 3G, or services of any ISP can access the electronic library database, the Knicks have. Information systems or applications that require a different IP Address of the institution before you can use the following authentication.

Wi-Fi Service

NIDA enables its graduate students and personnel to access NIDANet and the Internet with a notebook or PDA supporting Wi-Fi, by simply entering the personal NetID  into the system.

How to Set up Your Computer to Activate Wi-Fi Applications.

Network Name : The name of the Institute’s Wi-Fi network is NIDA_Wireless. Upon start-up, the computer or notebook in use will automatically detect the name. Thus, specifying the network name is not necessary. Note that more than one network may be detected, but they are not NIDA’s services.

Login : For login, use NetID which authenticates an individual user. A person without a NetID can not access any services of NIDA. 

WPA Key : WPA Key is the value created to enter the data code which is transmitted between the access point and the work station, i.e. the computer. The key is set up in order to prevent malefactors from hacking your data. For that reason, users must type capital and lower-case characters precisely as specified because the system detects such case specificity.

Virus Prevention and Security

To free computers used by all faculty and staff members from Internet intrusion of all viruses and worms, ITC has provided a server for anti-virus program installation. Below are the two details of the adjustment to fill this gap.

Print quota

Print Quota

Since 6 March 2013, ITC has developed the new printing system called “NIDA Smart Printing System (NIDA SPS)” which is the combination of the previous printing system and the wireless printing system (WPS). The student who has the remaining quota for both systems will be automatically transferred.

1.Printing can be done at the Computer Lap 1 (Walk-in Lab), 9th Floor Siamborromrajacchakumari Building, 2nd Floor NIDA’s Library, or using personal laptop connecting via NIDA wireless (NIDA SPS printing software must be installed, download the software and the instruction manual here).

2.Students can collect the print jobs at any of the  printing stations by scanning the student‘s ID card. 
3.The print job will be stored at the server for 6 hours. After that the job will be deleted from the server with no quota counted.
4.The quota can be checked and cancelled at the printing station.

   The printing quota can be purchased at helpdesk counter, 9th Floor Siamborromrajacchakumari Building, or at the purchasing kiosk, 2nd Floor NIDA’s Library (minimum 30 baht).

Computer Study Laboratory

The Institute has provided 4 computer study laboratories, three of which are reserved for pedagogical activities. The other one room spared for walk-in students. If the walk-in room is full and the other three do not have any curricular activities, students can walk in and deploy the computer therein.

All computers in the laboratory room are installed an intrusion prevention system. Students can temporarily save their data only; hence, they are encouraged to bring with them their own recordable media. The computers in the laboratory are provided specifically for knowledge search, academic purposes, and report preparation. Students must not use computers in the laboratory for other personal purposes including every single unlawful or unethical activity. If found that students use the computer contained in the laboratory improperly, NIDA reserves the rights to disallow their using the computer study laboratory. Also, in using the computer, students must treat their NetID with complete confidentiality.

Information Technology Center has arranged call center staffs for troubleshooting and giving advice about our services. Moreover, if you need troubleshooting your computer or setting up wireless network, bring it to us at Help Desk department located in 9th floor of Sayam Boromrajakumari Building.

• E-Mail - 50GB of cloud storage

• Calendar -  the scheduler, or planner, where you can set and manage appointments and tasks.

• Newsfeed -  your personal hub on Office 365 where you can post status updates, blog posts, edit your profile, or add tasks. 

•  OneDrive - 1TB of cloud storage. OneDrive contains the Office Web Apps and your document list for storing and editing different types of Office files.

• Site- access your Team or Public site, as well as sites you are following. You can also create new sites.

• Office Online- Using Microsoft Office via browsers including Word, Excel and  PowerPoint.
